This is not really new. It is just how the system naturally works. A private lobbying group is going to want to hire someone who has experience in government. There are many people who ‘used’ to be in government and are now employed, so they look for lobbying work. This can be for the NAACP, AARP, AAA, NORML or the oil, gun or other corporate lobbies. This is not new. The only way to really end their power is to completely ban lobbying groups. But, you can’t do that because they have freedom of speech. Why? Because the supreme court has said so.
