The 1990s and the 2000s have been dominated by players who have used performance enhancing chemicals. This will forever be known as the steroid era. Just like the spit ball in the early 1900s and amphetamines in the 1970s and 1980s. The Hall of Fame has a few choices to make and only two are rational. They can ignore the steroid use and just judge the statistics for what they are. Or, they can refuse to let any player from this era into the Hall of Fame.

The Hot Stove league has begun before people had a chance to realize the season was over. My favorite team is the Minnesota Twins and the off season has gotten off to an interesting start. You could look at the trade as a back up outfielder traded for a utility infielder. Another way to look at it is trading a valuable prospect with large potential for a past all star that was demoted to the minors this past season.

Once again for the 27th time the Yankees are World Series Champions. Their legions of fans are overjoyed. On the flipside, an even larger number of fans are furious. It seems that if you are not a fan of the Yankees then you probably hate them with a violent passion. ESPN or other sports media does not help matters with constant coverage of the team. But why do people hate them so much? Don’t get me wrong I am not a fan of the Yankees, I really don’t like them but I don’t hate them like so many people do.
