I got a response from Target and this is a good one.

Recently, the US Coast Guard has created a rule to ban anyone from coming within 65 feet of the oil containment booms. Without Coast guard approval, of course. They originally tried to make the exclusion zone 300 feet. They claim that this is done to ensure the safety of the public. However, it is currently preventing reporters and members of the media from reporting the conditions down in the Gulf.

The rumblings of the double-dip have been growing recently, if you can’t tell already. Many “experts” are divided on this issue, but it is clear that we are not back up to par just yet.

Michael Steele has come under recent criticism from almost everyone for comments he made last week. He essentially said that the war in Afghanistan is now a “war of Obama’s choosing” and that the US troops will fail.

It is almost the 4th of July. It is getting hot outside and we had our first big thunderstorm of the year this past week. I love this time of the year. As we move forward celebrating another Independence Day I think it is appropriate to look at some current news stories affecting our nation.

I never took an economics course in college and this is something that I deeply regret. Recently, China announced that they would allow their currency (the Yuan) to float more freely. In their economy they have tighter controls and restrictions, specifically; they have artificially devalued their currency. This means that their Yuan is worth less then what it would be if they did not devalue it.

Ignorance is one of the leading problems in the world of politics. It has been for a long and most likely will continue. To many, this sounds harsh, dismissive and arguably ignorant. But, let me explain.

Recently, the GOP of MN announced that Tom Emmer would be their candidate for Governor. Emmer, known for being in the far-right of the Republican Party, is a big shift in thinking for the MN GOP. No longer is the MN GOP a party of fiscal responsibility or moderate politics. Instead they are the victims of an orchestrated takeover of the party by the most extreme elements of it.

Well, the first year or so of Obama’s administration has been interesting. The healthcare battle seems to finally be over as the Democrats have successfully pushed through the much needed reform bill. But, the war for reform has just begun and if the previous battle was any indication, it will not be easy.

Sarah Palin is going around the country spreading her lies at the moment. In honor of her speech in the Boston Commons today I gathered some great quotes from her.

This was too good to pass up, I read this and just thought I had to share. The Governor of Minnesota, Tim Pawlenty, has a radio show and apparently things got a little out of control. Most of this backlash is due to Pawlenty’s attempts to block funding for education, unemployment benefits and a number of other worthwhile and necessary programs. Why Minnesotans voted for this guy I will never know, but he has done a lot of damage to this great state. Just look at our national rankings.

It has been about a week since my last posting, thank you all for you patience. There has been quite a lot going on in the world and in politics. Of course there is the earthquake in Chile that we are all paying close attention too. We also have the Health care bill resurgence that has taken place over the past couple of weeks.

This news just came across the wire not more then 30 minutes ago. It is official, Ron Paul has won a straw poll that was conducted by the notorious CPAC. You can see one of the speaker’s remarks here. Although this remark is one of less-professional of the bunch. But, calling your president a cocaine abuser seems to be popular.

Many of you know that I do not like Sarah Palin. I do not like her beliefs and I do not like her as a human being. I think she fails miserably in both regards and is damaging the United States. I also find her very interesting, as do many people with a college degree. I am intrigued by her because she is the complete opposite of logical/rational thought. She runs on emotion and she has no substance.
